Whether retained by plaintiff or defense counsel we provide the same approach and methodology. However, each case is unique and requires careful analysis. Our team works to ensure that our analyses are prepared accurately and timely, whether for purposes of settlement negotiation or expert testimony at trial or deposition.
As economists we often must rely upon the expert opinion of other professionals, such as vocational rehabilitation specialists, life care planners and medical doctors.
Litigation Support
Often our economists assist the attorney throughout the entirety of the case, from assisting a plaintiff attorney in making an early settlement demand in one case to conducting a preliminary assessment of potential economic exposure for an insurance company in another. We can provide litigation support even before the complaint is filed. Frequently early retention allows us to be of special assistance in:
Identifying other experts that may be needed in the case;
Compiling questions and areas of inquiry for depositions of key witnesses and opposing experts;
Preparing requests for document production;
Identifying records and/or information that can be subpoenaed in a timely manner
Expert Testimony
Though most cases resolve before trial testimony is needed it is important to know that your economic expert is credible and can offer compelling testimony to the trier of fact. Whether in deposition, mediation, arbitration, trial by judge or jury or a hearing we can articulate our opinions clearly and concisely. Our role, as we see it, is to assist the trier of fact in determining the value of recoverable economic damages.
